Loki
AvailableLoki is a young male German Shepherd Dog with a striking black and tan coat and a medium-length outer layer. At 2 years old, he’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and fully house trained. He is based in Wayland, MA and is still mastering some social skills, but is making progress every day.
About Loki
Loki is searching for an experienced German Shepherd home with an active family that can match his intensity and build on his training. This large, young dog is exuberant, full of curiosity, and loves to engage with both people and the world around him. Loki thrives on play, affection, and any excuse to learn—he’s highly motivated by both treats and toys, which makes training progress noticeable and ongoing. He’s made big strides in learning not to jump up during greetings, but he’ll need someone prepared to work consistently with him. His previous owner, who cared deeply for him, faced her own health challenges and made the tough choice to give Loki a chance at a more active life. Due to spending most of his early days outdoors with limited socialization, Loki missed out on some early experiences, but he’s showing strong potential and adaptability since joining the rescue. On walks, he takes everything in with energy, always alert and interested. Loki’s new home should have previous German Shepherd experience and be ready for a dog with genuine strength and enthusiasm. Continued structure, training, and exercise will help him settle into the excellent companion he’s on track to become. Fun fact: Loki is a Taurus, which might explain his determined nature. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
