About Rover
Rover is a handsome 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur who loves nothing more than a new adventure. Picked up as a stray at just 6 months, he has learned a lot and is now looking for a patient, active adopter who will give him confidence and space to acclimate at his own pace. Rover bonds easily with women and can be wary around men; a gentle, understanding intro helps him settle in. Once he's comfortable, Rover becomes a loyal, playful presence. He’s great with other dogs and does best with a canine companion to play with. Fetch, running, and anything involving water are his favorites. He’s lived smoothly with cats and chickens, showing his flexibility around other pets. Rover rides calmly in the car, does well out in public, is leash trained, and is fully house trained. He isn’t keen on crating but does settle down overnight. Given his talent for scaling fences taller than most would expect, he’ll need a secure yard or careful supervision outside. Rover fits best into an active home, ideally one with another playful dog. If you need a smart, affectionate, athletic sidekick who loves being out and about, Rover might be just right for you.
