About Campfire

Campfire is a 4-year-old retriever/Aussie mix who landed in rescue after a tough start in a hoarding situation. She arrived shut down, her coat matted to the skin and in real need of a break. After being shaved and settled into a foster home, Campfire has completely surged forward. She’s fully house and crate trained, gets along easily with other dogs, is gentle around cats, and even held her own politely with horses and ducks. Around people, she’s quiet and affectionate—always nearby, a bit of a shadow. There’s a shy edge when new things pop up, but she’s made big strides with patient reassurance and the help of confident foster siblings. She’ll keep working on her confidence with the right family and would thrive where there’s kindness and a bit of understanding. Campfire is built for easy companionship—loves to lounge in the sun or curl up inside, not asking for much more than a steady spot and someone to trust. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
