About Summit

Summit is a 6-month-old retriever and Australian shepherd mix whose early life wasn’t easy—he and eight other pups landed with animal control after coming from a hoarding situation packed with 20 adult dogs. Since arriving in rescue care, Summit has been spoiled with love and has started experiencing what puppyhood is supposed to feel like: safety, comfort, and playtime. He’s making up for lost time with toys, naps, and the kind of affection you can only get from a puppy. Still, being young, he will need plenty of training and socialization to learn the ins and outs of home life, but he’s eager to please and full of that classic puppy enthusiasm. Summit gets along with other dogs and children. He’s not yet house trained but is healthy, neutered, and currently up to date on all vaccinations. Anyone adopting him should be ready for some typical puppy chaos—chewing, zoomies, and those big, trusting eyes. Every day, Summit shows more signs of recovery and readiness for a new family. He’s looking for someone ready to put in a little work and get a lot of love in return. Your new best friend is just one click away.
