About Ruby

Ruby is a petite pittie mix, coming in at about 50–55 lbs and around two years old. She’s settling in after being rescued just a couple of weeks ago, having come from a tough past as part of a cruelty case—one of five adults who were all terribly thin and had clearly just had puppies. Her life before this was mostly a fenced yard, so much of the world is new and a little overwhelming. Now spayed, heartworm negative, and vaccinated, Ruby is just starting to fill out with some good food and regular meals. She’s crate trained and still learning the ropes when it comes to basic skills and leash walking—her excitement sometimes gets the best of her when there’s a new place to explore. While she’s a bit reserved with strangers, she softens with children, especially if someone gets down on the floor with her—she’ll crawl right into a lap. Ruby enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to play, but she’s a bit too interested in chasing barn cats, so a cat-free home would be best. She’s discovering new joys in simple things like squeaky toys and couch time, soaking in what it means to be part of a family. Your new best friend is just one click away.
