About Susie
Miss Susie Q is finally ready for adoption after a long journey through medical care. She arrived with stubborn skin, eye, and ear issues, and it took several rounds of different medications, diets, and extensive vetting to get her comfortable. As it turns out, Susie has a hefty list of environmental and food allergies, including reactions to most proteins—Kangaroo and hydrolyzed protein are her only safe choices. Apoquel helps keep her skin itch-free. While all of this kept her from being spayed for months, she's now fully vetted, spayed, and healthy. Susie’s foster family has learned a lot about her during her extended stay. She thrives on human attention and does well with children as young as 8. Even after difficult heartworm treatments, she greets everyone at the vet with a wagging tail. Walks are a favorite activity—she’s excellent on leash and sometimes proudly carries a toy along. Car rides also make her happy. Susie lives with several dogs, getting along well with most but definitely has her opinions. She’ll need to meet any resident dogs before adoption, as she’s selective. Susie is not a match for homes with cats. At about 56 lbs and 5-6 years old, she’s clearly had a rougher start to life, but what she may lack in looks, she makes up for in kindness and heart. Some quirks remain, but Susie’s love and great personality shine bright. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
