About Lucy
Lucy is a three-year-old black and tan Bloodhound who draws you in with her honey-colored eyes and warm, easy-going personality. She fits right in with both kids and adults—her laid-back temperament comes through whether she's lounging or out with other dogs. She hasn’t met any cats in foster care, but her strong prey drive for chickens and small critters suggests a home without cats or chickens is the safest bet. Lucy is house trained and has earned some bragging rights for her recall—when her foster dad whistles, she hustles back. She’s left loose in the house without crates and manages just fine. It’s important to keep food put away; her nose is unbeatable, and she’s not above sneaking a snack off the counter. She takes walks using a Gentle Leader and is usually relaxed on leash, although cars and wildlife still get her attention. She bounces back quickly and resumes her walk with the group. In the kitchen, Lucy eats with three other dogs and shows absolutely no food aggression or resource guarding. She does need daily eye drops, which she accepts easily, to keep those peepers shining. While she enjoys canine companionship, she would likely be happy as a solo dog, too—what matters is that her family loves her back as much as she loves them. Her foster family calls her one of the best fosters they’ve ever had. Ready to meet a loyal, steady hound like Lucy? Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
