Gemma is a young, small Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix waiting for a home in Grafton, WI. She’s a spayed female, and her vaccinations are up to date. Gemma does well with young children and other dogs, and she’s making good progress with her potty training. This gentle, shy dog is looking for patient people to help her feel safe and loved.

About Gemma

Gemma came to rescue after surviving a rough start in a large hoarding situation and is just now starting to figure out what comfort and safety mean. Life is new for her—she’s shy when first meeting people and prefers slow introductions, especially around quick movements. Despite her nerves, Gemma gets along well with young children and is gentle at heart. She enjoys quiet moments, a lap to curl up on, and patient hands willing to offer gentle pets. When she feels safe, she comes out for snuggles and is happy to tag along for some sunshine in the yard or a lazy patch of grass. Gemma is picking up potty pad training and shows promise with more time outside. She's not quite ready to come home until late June while she catches up on vet care, but her progress in foster care shows she’s ready to blossom with the right family—one with patience, kindness, and a calm routine. Gemma would thrive in a home that understands it might take some time for her to truly settle in, but the reward is a quiet and loyal companion who just wants to belong. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
