About Peter
Meet Peter! This seven-year-old Lab mix manages to strike the right balance between snoozing on the couch and joining you for a stroll around the block. Weighing under 50 pounds, Peter isn’t too much dog for a smaller space, but he’s up for adventure whenever you are. He gets along easily with dogs and people of all sizes, bringing a lot of affection to the table for his future family. Water is his element and bath time isn’t a battle—true to those Lab genes. Crate trained and respectful in the house, Peter can be left uncrated during the day with no drama. He’ll entertain himself with toys, and you’ll find he’s a solid car ride companion too. Food is pretty motivating for him; he picks up new skills quickly. Although he’s tolerant of most environments, super fast movements can catch him off-guard, so a household without small kids will likely be his best fit. Cats remain an unknown for him. Peter is fostered in Middletown, RI, and will be available for adoption on or after June 19, 2026. He’s looking for people ready to accept the kind of love only a dog like him can offer.
