About Rocky

Rocky is a spirited 1.5-year-old neutered male domestic long-haired cat currently in foster care in West Lafayette, IN. As an FIP survivor, he’s bounced back with plenty of energy and charm. Rocky’s favorite activities range from perching on the back of the couch and waving his tail just where you least expect it, to stealing your food (but rarely eating it), and playing vigorously with any toy he can toss around the house. He loves watching birds and drinking from the faucet. When he wants affection, he doesn’t hold back, sometimes getting so excited he’ll give enthusiastic little nibbles, which means he’s still working on being gentle—so a home with small children won’t be the right fit just yet. Rocky thrives when he has another playful young cat or kitten around, as he tends to pester older, less active cats. He hasn’t had the chance to meet any dogs. He’s neutered, vaccinated, house trained, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on Revolution Plus. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Rocky

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Domestic long-haired cats like Rocky do well as indoor companions, thriving in homes where they receive plenty of interaction. Apartments or houses work equally well, provided Rocky has space to play and observe the outside world safely.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Rocky, being a domestic long-haired cat, doesn’t need outdoor space to thrive—he’s content indoors with windows to watch birds or safe spaces to explore. Supervised patio or window time can enrich his day, but he’s best kept indoors.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

While domestic long-haired cats can make good family pets, Rocky isn’t suited to homes with small children right now since he sometimes gets overexcited and may nip during play or petting sessions.
