Poplar is a gorgeous 3-year-old Carolina dog mix who entered rescue, along with her housemates, after her owner could no longer care for her. She's started settling in after the upheaval and is just starting to come into her own. Poplar stands out for her calm energy and gentle way—she doesn’t jump and prefers to take things slow as she gets used to her new surroundings. Volunteers who’ve taken her out say she’s the sweetest and most easygoing dog they’ve met. She does great on a leash and loves both relaxed walks and quiet time, even enjoying special little treats like a whipped cream pup cup. Poplar gets along well with other dogs and is steadily learning the ropes of being a companion. She hasn’t quite mastered house training yet and will need patience as she transitions into a home.
