About Birdie
Birdie is a medium-sized young Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix with one eye and a big heart. Originally part of a large litter rescued after a tough start in Texas, she's healed beautifully from surgery to remove a damaged eye and hasn't let it hold her back at all. Birdie has settled into her foster home by becoming an entertaining, clumsy shadow—if there's a human in the house, she's not far behind, ready for bathroom, couch, or kitchen duty. While she's a little shy with new faces, she warms up quickly and turns on the charm with tail wags and cuddles. Birdie finds joy following people, discovering new toys, and snuggling with stuffed animals in her crate. She gets along well with other dogs and respects cats' boundaries. Timid at first around small children, she settles in with gentle handling and shows her sweet, affectionate side. Potty training is coming along nicely, and she's learning basic commands—especially if treats are involved. Birdie walks well on a leash, ignores distractions, and is nearly ready for her forever family to take her home. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
