Friday is a sweet girl who takes a little time to feel comfortable with new people, but once you've earned her trust, you'll discover what a loving companion she truly is. With her favorite person, Friday transforms into a cuddle bug who loves spending quiet evenings snuggled up at bedtime. This gentle girl is a big fan of other cats and enjoys having feline friends to play and socialize with. When she's feeling happy and relaxed, you'll often catch her making biscuits on soft blankets at record speed-a sure sign that she's content! Friday also loves batting around her favorite jungle ball toys and can happily entertain herself during playtime. Because she's a sensitive kitty, Friday can be startled by loud noises and would do best in a calm, predictable home. She may feel overwhelmed by young children, so a quieter household with older kids or adults would help her feel safe and secure. If you're willing to give a shy cat the time and patience she needs to settle in, Friday will reward you with gentle companionship, cozy cuddles, and plenty of adorable biscuit-making sessions The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You'll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
