He’s the perfect size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. This friendly boy loves other dogs of all sizes and enjoys making new canine friends wherever he goes. When it comes to people, Axel has a unique way of introducing himself. He likes to “talk” and will happily let you know he’d love some attention. Once you walk over and say hello, his barks quickly turn into tail wags and affection. He simply wants to be noticed and loved. Axel is potty trained and does well inside the home. One of his favorite activities is relaxing on the couch while watching the world go by through the window. Don’t let his laid-back side fool you though—he also loves running zoomies in the backyard and stretching his legs outdoors. He is still working on his leash manners and would benefit from a family willing to help him continue building confidence on walks. Axel’s story began when he was discovered abandoned inside an empty apartment. Thankfully, a compassionate foster stepped up and gave him a second chance at life. Despite being left behind, Axel remains incredibly loving, trusting, and ready to find a family who will never leave him again. We don’t yet know how Axel feels about cats, but he can be kitty-tested for interested adopters. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport. *Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year. *Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption. *Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption. *All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
