Julie Ann is a 7-year-old Dachshund weighing 16.6 pounds. She is a sweet and shy girl who gets along well with other dogs and is friendly with her people. Julie Ann may take a little time to adjust to a new environment, but with patience and understanding, her gentle personality shines through. She would do best with adopters who can give her the time she needs to feel comfortable and secure in her new home. At our shelter, we require an in-person meet and greet to ensure the best fit for both Julie Ann and her potential adopters. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
