About Kitkat

KitKat came to the Jason Heigl Foundation as a survivor of the LA Fires in 2025. A young Belgian Malinois / German Shepherd mix, she is a pure example of the beauty of this intelligent, highly trainable and curious breed. She has a happy, goofy spirit and a heart full of love. Playful and social she makes a fantastic doggy playmate but settles beautifully after adventures. Sheโ€™s never met a stranger, and greets everyone with kisses, nuzzles and full-body wiggles. She is a smaller dog, about 50 lbs. She engages wonderfully with every human she meets and gets along well with other dogs. KitKat is a quintessential hiking buddy, on and off the leash. She shows excellent recall and submissive traits with belly rub requests on your first meet and greet. KitKatโ€™s trainers at doggy day care report that she creates strong bonds, and is food motivated and eager to put her brain to work with further training and learning new skills. She will benefit from continued positive reinforcement to address some food and affection possessiveness, not uncommon in dogs who have been un-homed. With loving leadership and a confident, attentive household she will grow into an incredibly loyal, affectionate and fun-loving companion. She is not suited for apartment-style living or a home with cats (she likes to chase) and needs daily exercise and enrichment. Not a dog to be kenneled for eight hours a day. Spayed and up to date on vaccines, KitKat is available to adopt in Utah. Please visit our website to complete an adoption application for KitKat: https://jasonheigl.foundation/adopt/dog/kitkat
