Cherokee is a special little kitten who would do best in a home who can adore her and be responsible with her medical needs going forward. She has tested positive for a regressive form of Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). A regressive infection means that she was exposed to it in the past, but her immune system is currently keeping the virus suppressed at very low levels. We understand that this sounds a bit scary and we will be happy to talk this out with adopters as they come in to meet her. Kittens who have tested positive can still live happy lives, they just need a family who can understand her diagnosis and are willing to take care of any future medical needs she may have. She's a gentle, loving kitten that purrs nonstop when being held and she absolutely loves being carried around like a baby and also playing with all her toys.
