About Henry

Henry is a gentle, shy cat who takes his time getting comfortable around new people. He’s never shown aggression, not even during a rough patch when he arrived with a paw injury. That’s healed now, and throughout his care, Henry stayed calm, seeming to understand the help was for his own good. Given his nervous side, Henry won’t be a match for homes with very young children or active, loud environments. He needs a patient adopter willing to give him space to settle at his own pace. Henry does get along with other cats, but isn’t suited for living with dogs or kids. Visits to meet him are by appointment only at the shelter. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Henry

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Domestic Short Hair cats like Henry are adaptable, but Henry specifically will thrive in a calm, low-traffic home where he has space to take things slowly. A quiet environment with patient adults suits him best.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Henry, as a Domestic Short Hair, doesn't require outdoor access and can live happily as an indoor cat. Providing cozy areas to hide and perch is more important than outdoor space for him.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

While Domestic Short Hairs are often fine with children, Henry is too shy for a home with young kids. He’d be better with adults or older children who can respect his boundaries.
