About Hera
Hera is a gentle, deeply affectionate pittie mix with a heart that’s all snuggle. She’s happiest when close to her people, soaking up belly rubs and back scratches, and she’s not shy about asking for more attention with a sweet paw tap. Hera’s goofy side shines with her proud stuffie parades and signature sploots, but she’s never pushy—for kisses or cuddles, she knows when to turn up the charm and when to let you breathe. Indoors, Hera shows off years of progress: crate and potty trained, calm through the night, content during the day, and careful never to beg at mealtimes. She takes treats with a gentle mouth and has a healthy appreciation for fruit snacks. She already knows several basic cues, learns quickly, and handles routine care—baths, meds, ear checks—without complaint when you pair them with treats. Outside the home, Hera still faces some challenges from her tough past. She can become overwhelmed in overstimulating places, which may lead to strong leash pulling or jumping. Because of this, she needs an adult-only home or one with older, experienced teens. She requires someone confident, experienced, and ready to continue the thoughtful training and medication that have helped her blossom so far. Hera responds best to gentle, predictable handling, and she’ll need adopters who respect her signals and give her space when she needs to decompress. Push her too fast, and she can snap—but she’s quick to soften and wants nothing more than to regain her trust. With patience and ongoing support, Hera will stay on her path forward and become an incredibly loyal, loving companion to the people who understand her. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
