** In order to adopt an un-spayed kitty from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitty and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay surgery. You may need to bring the kitty back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay surgery** Say hello to the beautiful, blue beauty known as , GiGi. This gorgeous gal was brought to us by a kind person who had been taking care of her and her previous litters of kittens while they were all vulnerable, outdoor, stray kitties. This person know that the cycle must not continue and wanted to find her the loving, indoor home that she deserved. When she came to us she was already pregnant, so she was quickly taken in by a foster family and she was able to have her four babies inside, in peace and comfort. Now that her babies are weaned and ready to be adopted themselves, GiGi is ready for her shot too! This lovely lass has an estimated birthdate of 7/26/20, so she's getting close to being 7 years old. Even though she is technically a "middle-aged" kitty, her foster mom and shelter staff can attest to the fact that she acts a lot younger than her age. She's a delightfully fun, playful and friendly girl and is just FULL of love. She loves people and wants to be around them as much as possible. She loves nothing more than cozying up on a comfy couch for a tv watching marathon. She also loved the cat trees and window perches in her foster home. Now that she's at the shelter she doesn't have those things anymore, but she would no doubt love to have them in her forever home. She's also a huge catnip fan! GiGi also became accustomed to the "spoiled kitty life" in her foster home and she goes crazy for wet food. She would certainly be a happy camper if she were to be able to continue to enjoy that as well. She's a champion litter box user and even is used to using an automated litter box, plus traditional boxes. GiGi gets along great with other cats and she lived with several other adult cats in her foster home and she did just fine. She hasn't met any dogs since coming to us, but considering how adaptable she is, she would likely be just fine with a cat-friendly, gentle dog who gives her some space. GiGi has met kids and does great with them. This sweet girl truly does check all of the boxes!
