Sherman is an extra-large, neutered male American Bully/Pit Bull Terrier mix living in Stamford, CT. He’s an adult dog, housetrained, and up to date on vaccinations. Despite his size, Sherman is gentle and gets along well with dogs, cats, and children. He doesn’t have any special needs and is looking for someone strong enough to handle his energy on leash.

About Sherman

Sherman needs a forever home as soon as possible. Six months ago, he was left at a relative’s place, supposedly for a short stay, but his owner never came back. Since then, Sherman has been living with two other dogs in a condo that already exceeds its pet limit. The caregiver has tried other rescues and is out of options—fines are stacking up and eviction is on the table. After meeting Sherman, it was clear he’s an exceptional dog who deserves a real shot at a family. Sherman is truly a gentle giant—about 110 lbs, big but affectionate. He wants to be close, crawl on your lap, or snuggle on the couch. In the home, Sherman is relaxed and crate-trained. He’s friendly with every dog he meets and is currently living peacefully with two Belgian Malinois. He even gets along with mellow cats. There’s never been an issue with any other animals in the home, even in tight quarters. His main quirk is leash-pulling—he’s strong and needs someone who can handle him. Ideally, he’d have a fenced yard or a strong adopter comfortable hiking or working with him on leash manners. Apartments or condos with daily leash walks may be a challenge unless you’re up for some work. At 5 or 6 years old, Sherman is laid back, gentle, quiet, and happy to take up space on the couch. He just wants a place to nap and someone to love him. Sherman is remarkable, and whoever adopts him will be lucky. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Sherman

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Sherman, as an American Bully/Pit Bull Terrier mix, does best in a home with enough space for his size—ideally with a fenced yard. He can adjust to condo living if you have experience and strength to manage him, but a house with a secure yard is the most comfortable fit.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

With his extra-large frame, Sherman benefits from regular access to a yard or outdoor area. Apartment living is possible, but he’ll need daily walks and opportunities to stretch out.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Sherman’s temperament and breeds make him well-suited for families with children. As long as the kids are comfortable around large dogs, he’s a gentle companion.
