About Fireweed
Fireweed is a striking young Border Collie with boundless energy and a very sharp mind. Much of his day is spent romping around the yard, sniffing through the underbrush, or wrestling with canine friends. He checks in with people regularly for some ear rubs, a word of praise, or a treat—always eager for attention, but independent enough to go off exploring. Once Fireweed settles in, he shows a calm, affectionate side and is content to simply be near his human. House and crate training are moving along well; he keeps his crate clean at night, relaxes comfortably even if the door is open, and rides quietly in the car when crated. He finds it easiest to settle after a day with a good mix of exercise, play, and brain games. This boy is exceptionally quick to learn. Mental challenges and hands-on engagement light him up—he thrives on training sessions and shows promise for dog sports or other jobs that stretch his skills. Fireweed is best suited for an active household that can keep pace with his energy, ideally with a yard to stretch his legs and a playful dog companion. Someone willing to keep building his confidence and curiosity will be a great fit for him. Born on May 20, Fireweed is a Gemini—a sign known for intelligence and adaptability.
