Abe is a 1 1/2 year old male mix – maybe Shibu Inu with Chihuahua and probably a few other breeds. We think he was with his owner for about a year, but his owner could not continue to take care of him and surrendered him to FKR. Abe is 22 pounds of cuteness! He is very playful and likes to play tug of war with his foster sister or mom. His favorite toy is a ball and can entertain himself with it for quite some time. He is a bit timid when meeting new people but warms up to them very quickly. I’m not sure how he is with very young children, but he does like older children. He is good with other dogs, but he is used to being the only dog in the house so not having a dog sister or brother would not be a problem. I don’t know how he is with cats, according to his previous owner he hadn’t been around any. Abe is housebroken and knows how to sit and come when called. We are working on down and stay, as well as leash walking. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night (although he was very vocal his first night with his foster mom). He is used to a fenced yard but can jump a 4-foot fence. He is great in the car and seems to enjoy looking out the window – he’s very curious about everything! He is such a happy puppy and loves to cuddle and get belly rubs – he enjoys all the attention he can get. I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.
