About Abe

Abe is a playful, small mixed-breed guy with clear Shiba Inu features and a dose of Chihuahua, though there may be a few other breeds in the mix. At 1 1/2 years old and around 22 pounds, Abe keeps busy—he loves a spirited game of tug-of-war with his foster family and can spend ages entertaining himself with a ball. He's shy at first with new faces, but that melts away quickly. While his experience with very young children is unknown, he enjoys older kids and gets along with other dogs, though he's also content as a solo pet. Abe hasn't been around cats, so that's an unknown. He's housebroken, responds to basic commands, and is crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night after settling in. This smart little dog is still mastering 'down,' 'stay,' and leash walking and will need a securely fenced yard, as he can jump a 4-foot fence—curiosity fuels him, especially for car rides. Abe is a cuddler who lives for belly rubs and all the attention he can get. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for someone to make him part of their home.
