About Newt
Meet Newt—sometimes called Newtie, Newt the Scoot, The Newtster, or even Newty McNewty Pants. This goofy guy has earned every one of his nicknames. Newt landed at the shelter, quickly charmed everyone (including the director), and soon found himself basking in the comforts of a foster home while recovering from his neuter surgery and getting ready for adoption. He’s now adjusted well to home life. Newt is fully housebroken, does well in his crate, and fits right in as a houseguest. He’s an active, happy dog with plenty of energy to burn. Running is his thing—he makes a great jogging partner and sticks right by your side. He thrives with long walks, backyard games, fetch, or anything that lets him stay moving. Because he’s still learning some manners and can get a little too excited, a home with kids older than 10 is recommended. Newt loves playing with other energetic dogs but isn’t a fit for homes with cats due to his prey drive. His foster family has learned plenty about him outside the shelter, and is happy to share insights if you want to connect or set up a meet-and-greet. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
