About Scampi
Meet Scampi, the kangaroo dog with the spirit of Tigger and the springs of Pogo. At just over 2 years old, Scampi has a sun sign of Taurus, so he might have a stubborn side but brings big-hearted fun wherever he goes. He’s a large, mixed-breed guy—some lab, some hound, maybe a little of everything—about 60lbs and built for outdoor zoomies. The grace of a baby giraffe sums him up well: always enthusiastic, occasionally clumsy, often hilarious. His hops when excited are legendary. Scampi gets along with smaller female dogs but isn’t a fan of certain males, so compatibility checks are required for new canine siblings. He enjoys the company of kids and should be fine with cats as long as introductions are slow and steady. He knows “sit,” but expect to do a bit more training to fine-tune his energetic moves. If you live in a house with minimal breakables and want a high-spirited, loveable sidekick, Scampi is ready to bounce into your life. *For local adopters only: As an unneutered dog, Scampi must initially go to a foster-to-adopt home within an hour of West Jefferson, OH. Final adoption takes place after his neuter surgery, at which time required vaccinations and clinic visits will also take place.* Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
