About The Dude
Osito—affectionately known as The Dude or Doodle—is a scruffy, black one-year-old with a lovable personality and plenty of energy to spare. Currently fostered in Lake Forest, IL, Osito lives for training, games, and outdoor adventures. He’s the type who lights up a room just by being in it—quick to learn, always motivated, and thrilled to pick up new tricks or splash through any activity you throw at him. Hiking, running, or agility classes would suit him perfectly, and he’s happiest when included in family routines. Beneath that athletic edge is a soft, affectionate side—Osito adores people and likes to stay close. He’s a true shadow dog, following his person from room to room, up for a car ride or ready to snuggle at night. Stick by him and he’ll reward you with absolute devotion. Osito plays beautifully with other dogs; tug games and frisbee especially are favorites. Social and open-hearted, he gets along with kids and pretty much anyone he meets. His underbite and those occasionally stuck lips just add to his charm. Despite some instability early on, Osito has remained loving, trusting, and joyful. He’ll flourish in a home with someone experienced—or at least committed—to active engagement and continued training. He bonds deeply and is looking for a true partner. Whoever welcomes him home is about to gain a loyal sidekick who gives back in spades. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
