She’s the perfect combination of playful, athletic, gentle, and affectionate. Penny found herself on the euthanasia list at a local shelter before a wonderful foster stepped up and gave her the second chance she desperately needed through Sunnyside Street Dogs. Since then, she has blossomed into an incredible companion. She is fully potty trained, very smart, well-mannered, and already knows “sit.” Penny is happiest simply being near her people. She’s the definition of a velcro dog… loyal, loving, and always ready to be by your side for cuddles, companionship, or a quiet moment together. Penny absolutely loves toys and will proudly carry them around in her mouth or bring them over to share with you. Tennis balls are her favorite, and this athletic girl can catch them mid-air like a pro. Despite her playful side, Penny is calm and easy to walk, with no prey drive, meaning squirrels and birds don’t distract her on adventures. She would thrive in a loving, active home looking for a devoted best friend to enjoy walks, playtime, and lots of affection together. Penny is very comfortable with women and can initially be shy around men, but with patience, kindness, and trust, she warms up beautifully. She also does well around calm, respectful dogs and prefers relaxed energy around her. More than anything, Penny is a deeply loving dog who just wants someone to call her own. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport. *Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year. *Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption. *Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption. *All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
