About Wylie
Meet Wylie. He and his sister came up together from a rural shelter in North Carolina. Wylie is six months old and weighs about 13lbs right now, but he’ll likely reach 30-35lbs as an adult. His breed mix is anyone’s guess, but he’s carrying a lot of Chihuahua and Beagle mannerisms. At first, Wylie can be timid around new people. But once he decides you’re safe, he melts into a total love bug. Wylie is comfortable around other dogs and seems to take cues from confident canine friends. An adult home or one with older kids suits him best—small children and lots of commotion are a bit much for his gentle, sensitive side. He isn’t house trained yet. Wylie’s looking for someone patient who will help him build confidence. Puppy adopters must enroll him in a rescue-approved puppy kindergarten class. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Wylie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Wylie, being a Chihuahua/Beagle mix, does well in homes where he can feel secure and build trust with his people. Generally, these breeds do fine in both apartments and houses as long as they receive attention and support.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahua/Beagle mixes like Wylie appreciate having access to a safe yard, but don't require a huge amount of space. Daily walks and some playtime in a secure area typically keep him happy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Wylie would do best in a household with adults or older children since he’s on the timid side. While Beagle mixes can be good with kids, his sensitive nature means young kids could overwhelm him.
