Meet Leilani. Leilani is precious little 3-month-old female Shipoo (Shih Tzu/Poodle mix). At just 4 pounds, Leilani has a big personality in a pint-size body. She is a wonderful blend of sweetness and sass. Named after a delicate flower because of her size, Leilani turned out not to be all that delicate. She likes to wrestle with her foster brothers, play with toys, explore the yard and snuggle with her foster mom. Leilani is a confident little girl. She is cooperative and good tempered. But, if she has something to say, she will make sure that she's heard. She rides well in the car. She is ready to start potty and leash training. Leilani comes from a puppy mill and was discarded because of a birth defect. She has severe valgus deviation, (commonly known as a knock-knee deformity) in her left back leg. This condition does not cause her any pain or discomfort. The vet has said that it may correct itself as she continues to grow. Leilani will need an adopter that is willing to monitor this condition should it progress as she gets older. Details will be shared with any potential adopters. No one told Leilani that there's anything wrong with her though. It doesn't slow her down one bit. She runs and plays and wrestles with her foster siblings like any other puppy. She can even go up and down stairs already, which is amazing considering the step is twice as tall as she is! Leilani is quite the character; sweet and sassy and very loving, not to mention off the chart on the cuteness scale. An ideal home for Leilani would be one with another small and playful dog. She likes to always have a companion with her, whether it be of the furry or 2-legged kind. As with all puppies, she will need to be taught boundaries and be given the opportunity for regular exercise.
