About Beary
Beary is a 4.5-year-old Retriever/Shepherd mix who needs a little time to warm up to new people, but becomes incredibly affectionate once he trusts you. He's smart and eager to please, having easily completed several training courses and mastered commands like sit, stay, come, down, leave it, spin, shake, wait, and climb. Beary is both house trained and crate trained, and he thrives on structure and routine. He loves being active—walks, fetch, hiking, and even agility—and he comes alive outdoors. Still, his favorite spot is always with his person, ideally cuddled up for a nap or some downtime. Beary needs a quiet home without other dogs or young children, as he prefers not to share his toys or beds. He's fine out in public spaces with other dogs, but at home, he wants all the love for himself. It can take him a bit longer to pick his inner circle, but with patience and treats, you’ll soon see his full devotion and loving personality. The best match for Beary is someone looking for a loyal, active companion who values training and wants a dog who can learn and bond deeply. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
