About Truffles

This uniquely marked young lady is Truffles! Truffles is a 1 year old (DOB 4/30/25) female French Bulldog. Where did the merle come from? We surely do not know, official documentation doesn't give up any clues, so for all intents and purposes, French Bulldog is what we have! Truffles weighs in at a solid 21 pounds, and she is very typical of the Frenchie breed. Truffles has been house trained with access to a doggy door and also pad trained. She has lived with other dogs, but had some issues getting along, and will either be placed in a single dog home or with a male companion after a meet and greet. She will not be placed with another female. While she doesn't prefer a crate, she has been introduced to one previously, and with some basic crate training would likely be good to go. We were told that she has been left loose in the home and was not destructive, but crate training would be ideal. She walks relatively well on a leash, and is not reported to have any car sickness. We do not know how she would be with a cat, but willing to see how she would react. Truffles can be a little shy upon first meeting. She lacks a bit of confidence and has become slightly timid as a result. She will need a little time and patience to be the happy, outgoing, mischief maker that is the hallmark of this delightful companion breed, but she can and will get there with some individual one on one attention and socialization. She will alert bark to let you know that a stranger is at the door, but honestly doesn't have any follow through! She is probably fine around kids but her timidity and lack of confidence mean it will be best for her to be placed in an adult only home (teenagers are fine). Breed experience is definitely preferred. This is an engaging and lovely companion breed, but they have their own set of quirks that can best be dealt with by someone in the know. Noisy, snorty, at times very energetic and boisterous, always willing to get into some good trouble - that's a Frenchie!
