About Javier Barkem
Javier Barkem is new to everything, but he’s taking it all in with curiosity and a cautious sense of fun. He’s encountered plenty of dogs and finds them enjoyable to be around, while cats still make him a little nervous. Nothing beats the company of people, though—Javier loves to be close, soaking up every cuddle he can get. Once he’s settled, his playful side comes out, chasing toys, learning new things, and savoring little joys like fresh breezes. Javier’s a quick study who’s almost mastered leash-walking, and he’s eager to keep improving with someone who sets clear expectations. With the alert intelligence of a Border Collie, Cattledog, and other herding breeds, Javier uses gentle mouth nudges to explore—a habit he’ll outgrow with continued guidance. He’s just six months old and thriving with structure and attention. He does well with other friendly dogs and even gets along with confident cats, though he may need a bit of patience at first. Dog-savvy children older than eight will match his playful spirit best. He’s crate-trained, house trained, and likely won’t top more than 40 lbs full-grown. Javier’s looking for an active home where learning and affection are daily routines—and where some couch time is always available. Your new best friend is just one click away.
