About Bert
Meet Bert. Bert is a 10-year-old Shih Tzu who lives life at a leisurely pace and prefers the quieter, softer comforts of retirement. He’s deaf and partially blind, walks with a little stiffness, relies on pee pads, and expects his human to lift him up when he wants a spot on the couch—because for Bert, ramps and stairs are for peasants. Don’t be fooled by his health notes: Bert’s gentle, sunny outlook never falters. He’ll wag through the grass, melt into cuddles, and find joy in the smallest routines. He comes with a few ongoing medical needs: a collapsing trachea, arthritis, cataracts, and a mild heart condition that may eventually need medication. Getting around stairs and furniture requires help, but Bert’s not asking for special treatment—just a little understanding and a soft place to land. This little dog is still discovering how good life can be. Walks in the grass and new scents are new joys to him, and he’s thriving with gentle routines and care. Bert asks for very little—soft spots, slow strolls, a calm companion. In return, he gives back steady, comforting company that feels as dependable as home. He gets along well with cats, dogs, and children, making him an adaptable housemate. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
