Meet John! John is a gentle, easygoing companion with a big personality and just as much heart. He thrives on playtime and companionship, bonding quickly with fellow dogs—especially his foster's little Pomeranian—and usually enjoys every group dog park outing. He hasn't spent time with cats, but out on walks, he couldn’t care less about passing neighborhood strays and stays calm and courteous. John knows his basic commands and is fully house-trained. You won’t find him begging at the table or prowling the counters for snacks. He loves a good game of fetch and gets all kinds of excited waiting for you to throw the toy—sometimes to the point of playful barking! He tends toward the submissive, whether with humans or other pups, but he can play rough and will keep chasing the ball well past tired, so someone needs to step in and remind him to rest. He’s a champion cuddler who wants to be close—don’t be surprised if he tries to claim your lap. Car rides and open windows make him happy, and once home, he’ll sink into his dog bed or chew on whatever tough toy you can provide (those yak bones don’t last long). On walks, he sometimes pulls or grabs the leash playfully but usually settles after a few minutes. Plush toys, however, are doomed; expect fluff carnage, but his goofy and loving spirit more than makes up for it. John doesn’t have an ounce of aggression or resource-guarding in him—he’s just looking for a friend to love back.
