Pigeon is a baby female French Bulldog currently being cared for in Valrico, FL. She is considered a medium-sized dog and was born with a mild special health condition called pectus carinatum, but at this point shows no symptoms interfering with her happy, energetic lifestyle. She is under professional veterinary care and being closely monitored for her health and comfort.

About Pigeon

Pigeon is a three-month-old French Bulldog surrendered to rescue because she was born with pectus carinatum, sometimes called 'pigeon chest,' meaning her sternum sticks out a bit. In many cases, this issue can make breathing or exercise tough for dogs, especially in French Bulldogs—but for Pigeon, so far, it doesn't seem to slow her down at all. She’s playful, loves her food, and would happily be carried everywhere if you let her. Her recent veterinary exam turned up nothing worrisome, but she’ll need regular check-ups and x-rays just to make sure all continues to go well as she grows. She’s still a tiny pup and will be available for adoption following her medical follow-up. Stick around for updates as rescue staff get to know her even better. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Pigeon

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Pigeon is a French Bulldog, and like most Frenchies, she typically does well in homes or apartments with comfortable, climate-controlled environments. Because of their flat faces, these dogs are best kept indoors and aren't suited for extreme heat or heavy exercise outdoors.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

French Bulldogs like Pigeon don’t require a large yard. Short walks and some supervised playtime outside should be plenty for her energy level, so a small fenced area or regular walks are sufficient.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

French Bulldogs are often great with kids. Pigeon’s playful and sweet nature is likely to make her a good family companion, as long as children know how to interact respectfully with small dogs.
