About Wavy
Wavy landed at New York Animal Care Centers after his previous owners gave him up for being a mouthy puppy. He was anxious in the shelter but never lost his manners—in fact, he charmed everyone who met him, taking treats gently and soaking up affection from volunteers. Thanks to a dedicated foster, his life got a second shot, and now he’s ready for a permanent home. This young, medium-coated Husky mix weighs about 45 lbs and has a big personality to match his size. Wavy bonds quickly, sticks close, and wants to be involved in whatever is happening. He thrives with an active family that can give him daily exercise and challenge his clever, curious mind. Outside, he’s Husky through and through: big on zoomies, enthusiastic about patrol duty, and always up for car rides or errands (he rocks Home Depot visits). Indoors, he settles well, especially with structure and clear boundaries. Wavy is house-trained, crate-trained, and social with dogs and cats when routines are clear. He does well with children in active homes—his excitement sometimes gets the better of him in the form of jumping or mouthing, but he learns fast with a patient hand and lots of treats. For leash walks, he needs focus around wildlife due to his prey drive. Wavy’s not much of a barker, but he’ll “talk” if he wants attention. Wavy needs an experienced home that balances physical activity and consistent leadership. A securely fenced yard is ideal, and he enjoys the company of another playful dog.
