Meet Lexi As a volunteer walked up to Lexi’s outside kennel this evening ,she greeted her with the softest tail wag, gave her a gentle little lick through the kennel door, and just looked at me with those eyes that seemed so unsure of how she ended up here. Lexi recently found herself at our shelter and she is nothing short of confused. The loud barking, the unfamiliar people, the overwhelming environment… it’s a lot for dogs who suddenly lose everything they knew. Sometimes when dogs first arrive here, we don’t get to see their true personalities right away because they are simply trying to process all the stress around them. Lexi is about 3 years old and around 60 pounds. They opened the kennel door, leashed her easily, and we went for a little walk together. She stayed right with the volunteer and seemed thankful just to be getting a little attention . She would definitely benefit from proper training and consistency, as it doesn’t seem like she’s had much guidance before, but she is sweet, willing, and eager to connect. We were also told she does well with farm animals, so if you have a farm or a little bit of land and have been searching for a loyal sidekick to walk beside you every day, maybe Lexi is your girl. This sweet girl deserves so much more than stressful shelter life. She deserves peaceful mornings, a comfy bed, and a family who will finally give her the stability she’s been missing.
