About Cali
Cali is a four-year-old Chihuahua and Pit Bull Terrier mix who ended up at the shelter with her son Paco after their family moved away. Despite her nerves and the sudden changes, Cali shows a real determination to make friends with everyone she meets. Sheās got that classic ālove meā energyāalways checking in on Paco, always seeking reassurance, and always staying as close as possible to her people. Affection and attention are at the top of Caliās wish list. Sheāll do anything to climb into your lap and get a snuggle, but sheās also quick to notice when someone else in the room needs comforting too. Living with kids previously, and keeping her kennel impressively tidy, she seems to take pride in her surroundings. Leash walking is still a bit overwhelming for her, so for now she prefers the calmer yard time to decompress. Cali is receiving treatment after testing positive for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia, but sheās handling it well and enjoys the comfort of time spent with Paco. Cali and Paco are deeply connectedāit would be best if they could stay together, as she really grounds him. She shows interest in other dogs but would need careful introductions, and her experience with cats isnāt known. Cali is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped. Ready to offer her the reassurance and routine she craves? Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
