Eden Hi, my name is Eden. I am a Chihuahua-mix, spayed female. I just had my 3rd birthday April 25th. I am teeny tiny at about 7 pounds. Good with dogs (big+small?): Nervous around others dogs besides her current brother(12 lbs chihuahua-mix). Recommended no other dogs in home. Good with cats: unknown, but not recommended due to her size. Good with kids? (If so, what ages): no, not recommended for kids of any age. She prefers quiet, slow, and gentle touch. Good with men: Yes. She would do well with someone who absolutely loves tiny dogs wouldn’t matter if male or female. She would also do well with a couple. Crate trained/in process of: She is kennel trained not crate trained. (In about a 6ft by 3ft, 30 inch tall, indoor kennel) Inside the kennel, there must be a pee pad. She is not fully potty trained but pee pad trained. In the process of learning to potty outside after each meal in a fenced in yard on turf. Doggy door trained: No Leash trained: Yes, step in harness only because she is so tiny. Knows any tricks: She can dance on command! If you lift both your hands up and put on some music and use the command “dance, dance, Eden,” she will! She will put her two paws in the air and hop around dancing! She will also twirl if you spin your hand in a circle motion. She’s a fast learner, especially if you have freshly boiled chicken treats! Likes: Eden loves teeny-tiny-toys. She will throw a toy up in the air and play with it herself. She also likes tiny rope pulls to play tug with. She loves her kennel as her “safe space.” She likes to go inside there to eat, sleep, and retreat if anything stresses her out. She absolutely loves warmth and to nest under a thick cozy throw blanket. She loves Freeze-dried chicken as her every day treat! Dislikes: Touch near her teeth/lower face and head if you are a stranger. Must haves: Her own space. She’s very independent most of the time, but then also loves quality time with her human with all the pets, cuddles and cheek kisses she desires. Loves to sit in lap or sit on your chest being held or pet while you watch TV. She loves the sound of constant water like “rain sounds” to relax her while in her kennel if you are away from the home. Apartment dog: no, not recommended she will be nervous each time you take her out for a walk when running into all the other dogs at the complex. Apartment living will be too noisy and active for her. Fun facts: Yes, she has the cutest underbite you’ve ever seen! Also, she loves to be near you and when you gently stroke/rub her or talk gently to her she makes a hard breathing sound that sounds like she’s enjoying what you are saying to her! Almost like she is trying to talk back and say “aww thank you! I love you too” Ideal home: Someone who is well experienced with the chihuahua breed and behaviors. Someone who is well experienced with tiny dog care and wellness. Eden will need someone patient as she slowly warms up to all the newness around her. Someone who is home most of the time and has a fenced in yard where she can continue to learn to do outdoor potty training, sun bathe and can zoomie with her toys to burn out her energy. Someone who enjoys dog-training and can help encourage her and teach her confidence with patience. She will thrive in a quiet atmosphere and the same routine daily where she is given plenty of quality time and love!
