Greetings. I’m Tino! I’m a 2 year old, 12 pound Terrier mix. Maybe there’s a little Yorkie in me. Maybe a little Mini Aussie. Maybe a little mystery creature nobody has identified yet. What I do know is that I have some pretty cool coloring, a shorter tail, and eyes that humans keep describing as “suspiciously human.” Before coming to rescue, life was pretty rough. I lived outside with more than 20 other small dogs in a neglect situation. My fur was so long and matted it hurt, I was underweight, and I didn’t know much about being a loved family pet. Thankfully, that chapter is over. These days, I’m fully crate trained. Every morning I get ridiculously excited to see my foster parents. I’m still wearing a belly band in the house because I’m not quite housebroken yet. The good news is I know when I need to go potty. The bad news is I haven’t mastered the whole “informing the humans” part. We’re working on it, and with patience and consistency, I’ll get there. One thing I’ve learned is that attention is pretty dog gone amazing. I enjoy belly rubs and being near my people. I do good with other dogs, but prefer small ones. I don’t chew on things, which seems to make humans very happy. I do, however, take my neighborhood security job seriously. I may alert you to guests or strange noises. Because of that, apartment living isn’t my thing. Once I’ve made my announcement, though, I usually settle down when told. I walk nicely on a leash and absolutely love walks and meeting neighbors who are willing to stop and admire me. I haven’t spent much time around kids, but I’m gentle, affectionate, and always looking for more people to love me. I’m neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, on preventatives, freshly groomed (had to be shaved down), and officially accepting applications for the position of Forever Family. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
