About Luke

Meet Luke! This adorable 18-week-old hound mix puppy weighs about 18 pounds and has a beautiful tan coat. He was found abandoned on a gravel road with his brother, but he hasn’t let his difficult start dim his sweet and loving nature. His brother Bo is also listed on our website. He can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, he quickly begins to open up and show his affectionate, playful side. Once he feels safe, he enjoys engaging with both people and other dogs. This pup plays well with other dogs at an intermediate level—he’s learning appropriate play skills and would likely do well in a home with a friendly, well-adjusted canine companion or with regular opportunities for socialization. He is currently working on crate training, leash walking, and house training, and is making steady progress. As with any young puppy, he will thrive in a home that can continue to provide consistency, structure, and ongoing positive reinforcement. He’s ready to find a patient, caring forever home that will help him build confidence and continue his journey. As with all our pups, we believe he will do best in a home with children ages 5 and older. Adoption Coordinator: Beth Adoption Fee: $600 Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area. If you wish to adopt our dogs, please complete an online APPLICATION. You must first be approved by going through our application and screening process. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. Forever Home Rescue makes all of the transportation arrangements. Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. Any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the South and will prefer to do their business outdoors. Our dogs and pups are best suited for families with children 5 yrs old and up. Also, please note our open houses which occur most every week at foreverhomerescue.org. You can see when we are open and also which dogs will be at each open house. Dogs marked 'out of town' will not usually be at open houses until they are local.
