About Nellie
Nellie is currently being fostered in a home setting, where she's been learning the ropes of family life. She’s shy to start, needing time and patience to warm up, but once she bonds, Nellie reveals a joyful, wiggly, and wonderfully goofy side. Building confidence through a structured training program, she now feels more comfortable around people and in new environments. Volunteers say she's got soft fur and soulful eyes, and she’s happiest following family members from room to room, just taking it all in. Nellie is housebroken with a routine and is generally calm and quiet, though she gets the occasional zoomies when she's feeling playful. She loves her toys, enjoys gentle praise, and will thrive in a calm, predictable setting. Nellie does well with respectful dogs after a proper introduction and must meet any resident dog before adoption. She needs a home without small children; kids 6 and up who understand how to respect her space are key. Outdoor playtime is a highlight — a fenced yard is ideal since Nellie can be a flight risk. Daily walks are another favorite, as long as they're in quieter, less busy spaces. She settles well when home alone for short stretches and is content sleeping through the night in bed with her people. Nellie does best with gentle guidance and lots of love, and she’ll repay that with steadfast loyalty. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
