Dixon has been in rescue for quite some time and it's honestly a mystery- EVERYONE thinks he's great from our southern rescue partners, to his foster, to our volunteers. They rave about him! He's estimated to be about two years old and came into rescue when he wandered onto a property in AL. We believe that his owner moved and left him behind, which is very common in AL. Despite this, he remains so happy, sweet, and upbeat and he absolutely loves everyone he meets. We believe he's a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix and his size likely works against him as the majority of our current approved adopters are looking for dogs under 50 lbs. Dixon is about 67 lbs although he's a little on the chubby side. He is good with dogs, cats, and kids. His foster says: "Dixon is the SWEETEST boy. I love him so much. He loves ear scratches and belly rubs. He is easy going and a happy boy. Oh, and he seems to be fully house trained, he's had no accidents. He is doing GREAT! He is so, so sweet and gentle. He is very affectionate and loves to be petted. He gets along great with other dogs and children. He has been doing well with the crate and hasn't had any accidents. He is walking well on leash and is enjoying seeing new things like bicycles and trying out all the toys in the bin."
