Sadly, this poor little guy has not been socialized and is very timid. He came in with his mom, Goldie, who is also very shy. Neither Gary nor his mom have shown any aggression. We just placed Gary into a loving foster home with one of our amazing volunteers to give him the environment he needs to begin his new journey and learn to trust. Gary's new family will need to be patient and devoted to working with him to help him gain confidence and trust. It will take time, but watching Gary learn to trust and blossom, and knowing you have completely changed this pup's life for the better will be an extremely rewarding experience. Gary would benefit from a home with another dog for companionship and to help him along through example. Gary is just 2 months old and he currently weighs 11.2 lbs. He should grow to be medium size; quite a bit bigger than his mom. ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
