Meet Ziggy (#61983) - the adorable little mystery mix boy who recently made the big journey from Oklahoma to Bend in search of his forever family! When Ziggy first arrived in our program, he only came to us as a number. Since then, names like Tommy and Ziggy have been tossed around, but we think his lucky future family will be the ones to truly give him the perfect name and fresh start he deserves. Now that he's officially completed his initial medical vetting and has been cleared for adoption (with future routine puppy vaccinations still needed through his adopter's veterinarian), this sweet boy is more than ready to begin his next chapter. As for what breed mix he might be... your guess is honestly as good as ours! Without knowing his parents or background, we can't say for certain, but some of our best guesses include Chihuahua mix, Rat Terrier mix, maybe a little cattle dog, pointer, or a combination of several things all rolled into one adorable package. What we do know is that we expect him to stay in the smaller size of the "small-medium" size range once fully grown, but of course we cannot make any guarantees! Ziggy can be a little shy and timid when first meeting new people or entering new environments, but once he settles in, it doesn't take long at all before he warms up and reveals what an affectionate, sweet little lovebug he really is. Since arriving in foster care, he's been doing exceptionally well and continues to impress everyone around him. His foster reports that he: Loves snuggling on the couch and being close to his people Sleeps quietly and wonderfully overnight in his crate Is already picking up potty training and doing great with pottying outdoors Has only had one accident in the home so far Is very quiet overall and not much of a barker Is doing fantastic living alongside a temporary pack of five much larger dogs Has also been calm and respectful around chickens and horses Like all young puppies, Ziggy will continue to benefit from ongoing socialization, positive reinforcement training, structure, routine, patience, and consistency as he grows and adjusts to the world around him. This sweet little guy has already overcome so much change in such a short time, and he's blossoming more every single day.
