Boysenberry
AvailableBoysenberry is a small mixed breed puppy with roots in Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua lines. He has a tricolor brown, black, and white short coat and is currently living in Yorktown, VA. He is expected to stay on the smaller side of the spectrum, like his 11-pound mother.
About Boysenberry
Meet Boysenberry! This little guy has a brown and tan tricolor coat, weighs about 4.6 pounds, and is already charming everyone he meets. Boysenberry comes from a unique background—his mom, Guava, was rescued from a big hoarding situation with a wild mix of breeds. DNA from some of the pups in his group showed poodle, shih tzu, and a bit of min pin. Guava herself looks like a chihuahua but doesn’t have the typical chi attitude. Boysenberry should stay small, probably topping out under 20 pounds. He’s receiving all the necessary vaccines, deworming, a microchip, and neuter as part of his adoption. Boysenberry loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and hasn’t met any cats yet but is young enough to adapt. He’s not house trained but is getting the hang of puppy pads, and is untested on leash or in a crate. Expect some sleepless nights as he works through crate training after leaving his mom. He shares toys, treats, and food well and handles car rides like a champ. Right now, he’s playful, friendly, smart, and always up for a lap cuddle or a romp with a chew toy. Puppies need a lot of attention and patience—lots of accidents and mischief come with the territory. Plan on a lot of hands-on training and supervision. If you’re ready to put in the time, Boysenberry will pay it back in loyalty and love. He’ll need to be adopted within an hour’s drive of Hampton, VA. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Boysenberry
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Boysenberry, being a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix, will thrive in smaller homes or apartments as long as he receives regular exercise and attention. He’ll feel most at home in a space where he can be close to his humans.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A small breed like Boysenberry does well with short walks and some playtime in a fenced yard or safe outdoor space. They don’t require a large yard but should get daily opportunities to romp and explore.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Boysenberry gets along well with children, like many small, social mixed breeds. Supervision is still key, especially with very young kids, to ensure everyone gets along safely.
