Meet Woodrow, A Pint-Sized Explorer Ready for Adventure and his Forever Home! They say the best things come in small packages, and he is living proof of that. "Woody" is going to be a versatile dog. He will be able to run and play with kids, go hiking with the family or chill around the homeplace with his person. His mother and littermates were dumped out by a TX river bridge. Thankfully, all were safely rescued. He was the one the finders almost couldn't let go of--and once you meet him, you'll see why. Whether you have a multi-pet household or are looking for a singular companion to grow with, Woodrow is the adaptable, intelligent addition you've been waiting for. He is a social butterfly with all people. And he is already actively learning social cues from his foster home resident adult dogs, soaking up the skills needed to be a polite and well-adjusted member of a pack. He's also good with cats and already understands which cats are down for a game of tag and which ones prefer their personal space. Woodrow does fine with his crate. After just a few minutes of settling in, he proceeds into a quiet, peaceful rest.: His housebreaking is a "work in progress" (as expected for a baby!), but his eagerness to please makes training fairly simple. And this smart boy is making stellar progress on his leash walks and responds to verbal corrections. Woodrow would thrive with a family ready to shower him with affection and guide him through his "puppy-hood" and watch him grow into the amazing companion he's destined to be. He would also love having playmates, whether it's respectful children, playful cats, or mentor dogs. Could you be the one to give Woodrow the bridge to his new life? He's ready to prove that he isn't just a rescue--he's a reward. This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact. PLEASE--Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time? IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
