Meet Hope! A gorgeous 50 pound, 7–9 year old Pit Bull mix whose name could not fit her more perfectly. Despite everything this girl has endured, Hope continues to show the world nothing but love, resilience, and kindness. Hope was found abandoned and discarded, carrying heartbreaking evidence of unimaginable cruelty. Her teeth had been ground down to the gum line, something both the rescue and veterinarians believe is consistent with dogs who were used as bait dogs in fighting situations. While we may never fully know the horrors she survived, what we do know is that Hope is the definition of a warrior. Through years of pain and scars, her spirit remained gentle. Since entering rescue, Hope has been fully vetted, spayed, medically evaluated, and is now making her way to New Hampshire where she will receive another full veterinary exam to ensure she is healthy, comfortable, and ready for the life she has always deserved. And despite her past? Hope is absolutely incredible. She adores children and is currently thriving in a foster home with young kids. She does wonderfully with cats, chickens, and other dogs. She has a calm, loving nature and simply wants to be close to her people. She is food motivated, easygoing, and still enjoys chewing toys and treats — we simply soften her dry food for her. What Hope needs now is not survival — it’s peace. She deserves a home where she will finally be cherished, spoiled, and loved unconditionally for the rest of her life. A family who understands that while her body tells a story of hardship, her heart is still full of trust and love. We would love to see her in a home where someone is around often to give her the attention, comfort, and affection she was denied for so many years. While she does well in family settings, we believe Hope deserves a calmer environment where she can truly enjoy the retirement and happiness she has earned.
