About Tatum

Meet Tatum, a small, creamy white, 6-year-old Maltipoo weighing around 14 lbs. Tatum was surrendered to the East Valley Shelter after her previous family couldn't cover the cost of her mammary tumor surgery—likely after years of breeding and little attention spent on her comfort. Now, with her surgery behind her and an optimistic outlook from the vet, she’s on the mend and eager for a fresh start. Tatum is extremely sweet but shows a bit of timidity and is head shy when meeting new people. She hasn’t gotten much socialization, so new situations may feel overwhelming at first. She wants to meet other dogs and seems curious about canine company. Tatum has been kept fairly quiet recently due to her long incision, but she's ready to play and get moving again. Potty training is still a work in progress, and access to a yard will help speed things up. She hates being left alone and would do best with owners or a canine sibling who can keep her company. Tatum rides well in the car—eager to stay close—and gives gentle thank-you kisses. She was the perfect client at the groomer and loves cuddling once she settles in. Respectful children 8 and older are fine, but patience will help her fully come out of her shell. She will be available for meet-and-greets soon and can head home once her stitches are out.
