Taco is a tender little male Chihuahua who was found after being dumped and left to fend for himself. Because of that, he’s understandably shy and takes time to feel safe. He isn’t the kind of dog who rushes into new arms he prefers to move at his own pace and build trust slowly. Taco does not enjoy being picked up and needs a home that truly respects his boundaries. He bonds deeply, but only after he decides you are “his.” When Taco chooses his people, he chooses them completely. He is not a social butterfly he is a one-or two-person kind of dog who thrives on a calm, predictable routine. He prefers a quiet household without a lot of commotion. While he does fine around respectful children, he would do best in an adult or very calm home where things aren’t loud or chaotic. He takes time to warm up to other pets and needs slow, thoughtful introductions. Taco is very sweet, submissive, and incredibly loyal once comfortable. He loves being cuddled up in blankets and simply existing close to his person. He is mellow and happiest when life moves at his pace. Positive reinforcement and gentle handling are essential for him. He is potty trained, free-feeds well, and has not been kennel trained. He does get carsick, He is also working on food reactivity and will need a home committed to continuing his training. Taco is not for everyone he needs a patient, understanding adopter willing to let him bloom slowly. But for the right person, he will be a deeply devoted and loving companion.
